20NiCrMo2-2 / 1.6523 is an alloyed carburizing steel, which belongs to the European standards EN 10084 and ISO683-11. It is widely used in several industries, such as automotive manufacturing, gear manufacturing, heavy machinery, and highly loaded transmission components. So you can find its equivalent in different national standards, such as ASTM 8620 from American standard ASTM A29/A29M, SNCM220 from Japanese standard JIS G4105, 20CrNiMo from Chinese standard GB/T3077, 805M20 from British standard BS970.
20NiCrMo2-2 is a Ni-Cr-Mo steel series with a carbon content of 0.17-0.23%. After carburizing and quenching and tempering treatment, it can obtain excellent surface hardness and core toughness, as well as good fatigue resistance and wear resistance. Because of its excellent carburizing properties and comprehensive mechanical properties, 20NiCrMo2-2 is commonly used in the manufacture of gears, shafts, clutch parts, and other components requiring high surface hardness and high core toughness. It is also known as a carburized steel and is suitable for applications requiring very high surface hardness and wear resistance.
